Bio/Artist Statement:
When I was twenty years old, I quit college, worked construction for awhile, stashed enough coin to buy a Eurorail pass, hitchhiked to New York, then flew to Europe, I spent three months there doing nothing but going to galleries and museums. I saw Everybody--Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and all the rest. It was then I knew I wanted to do art. For me, art, literature and science are the apex of humanity. I can’t write and science is not in my genes, but I have always been fairly creative.

I strive for perfection no matter what media I work in, I enjoy working with different materials and I love to create things of beauty. When some one asks what I have been doing for fun, I always reply that my work is fun, that’s what I do. There is no nine to five, five days a week for me. If I’m not working on a new piece, I am landscaping or building something for our house or the kids. I don’t subscribe to any art publications, nor do I look at much of any other local artist’s work as I want my ideas to come from me.

Once I have decided on an idea, I model it out, and the rest is execution, and I strive to complete the project to the best of my abilities I. Put a lot of thought and effort into everything I make, probably spending too much time on each, but refinement is my goal. I do not appreciate art that looks like it took the artist an hour to complete.
