You are invited to enter the vivid and colorful world of Marie Christine Briot-Connolly. The Parisian’s paintings are a ubiquitous fixture of Morgan Hill and the rest of the south valley. Her winning entry of downtown Morgan Hill on a sultry August afternoon was the popular choice among the citizenry during the Centennial of the city in 2006.
Not only has her paintings graced the walls of various galleries in the south valley but also in private collections in the Bay Area. Briot-Connolly produces works of stunning imagery, kinetic landscapes and vibrant depictions of the California coast.
Briot-Connolly studied Arts in France and Interior Design in the Dublin Institute of Design in Ireland. She pursued her passion for modern literature, which led to a Masters degree in American Literature. This explains why she can speak English fluently despite being on US soil for only a short time.
"I have passion and I’m intense about my work. I’m intense and passionate about everything I do," she said. This French artist isn’t afraid of color and jumps right into a task always painting something new. Briot-Connolly spends long days in her studio, just like any typical full-time job. She has served on the Morgan Hill Library, Culture and Arts Commission for two years, as Vice-Chair in 2007 and is a very dedicated President to "Valle Del Sur Art Guild".
Come celebrate with Briot-Connolly as Lojart unveils her newest series of maritime, European and south valley themed paintings. The reception will be from 6 to 9 on Friday evening, September 14th in downtown Morgan Hill.
Lojart Gallery features a different artist every month on the second Friday evening. It is located at 35 East First Street, Suite B near Monterey Road in Morgan Hill.
